Author. Speaker. Pastor. Encourager of parents, marriages, millennials, singles, & families. Swedish fish enthusiast.
I’m a co-pastor at a Presbyterian church in southern California, alongside my husband. We share our position and our office. People ask if we ever step on each other’s toes, but he’s the brainiac and I’m the storyteller. Our wheelhouses are so different they’re not even in the same…house.
I graduated from Wheaton College (B.A. in communications), Loyola University (M.A. in English lit), and Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.), joking for years that I was birthing degrees instead of kids, which my parents found notatall funny.
I’ve never met a book I didn’t like. Except for Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying, because it is awful. Just awful.
Before following God’s call to ministry, I trained to be an English lit professor. I am as surprised as anyone to be a pastor, but I love it. My husband and I have two kiddos, zero pets, and at least three types of homemade baked goods in our kitchen at all times.
The blog focuses on faith, friendship, parenthood, and life (a total catch all! – d’ya like that?) with an emphasis on honesty, encouragement, humor, Jesus, and grace.
(It’s also a personal blog and not officially affiliated with my church or denomination in any way. Any products, authors, websites, etc. mentioned are mentioned because I like them, not because I’m paid to endorse anyone or anything.)
The difference between the almost right word and the right word is the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning. – Mark Twain
A dynamic presentation of a deeply profound message can be life changing. The same presentation with a good dose of humor? Even better!
I speak at retreats, women’s groups (including MOPS), and college ministries. I enjoy speaking to a wide range of Christian traditions, and am located in Orange County, California.
